The roadworkers in China have accidentally discovered a 700-year-old mummy buried under the ground while they were fixing the road.

According to the reports, the corpse of the high-ranking woman who was believed to be from the Ming Dynasty – the ruling power in China between the year 1368 and 1644 was discovered by a team who were just working to expand a street.
The mummy that was found in the city of Taizhou in the Jiangsu Province, along with two other wooden tombs, offered a fascinating insight into the life that existed back then.
The corpse was discovered two meters below the road surface had the features of a woman’s face. It has the most delicate features from her head to tow. Surprisingly, everything had retained their original condition.
When the discovery was made, the roadworkers instantly called the attention of the archaeologists from the nearby Museum of Taizhou so that they could instantly investigate what happened.
The experts were pretty surprised when they noticed that the mummy was still in perfect condition even the mummy’s hair and eyelashes.
The body of the mummy that was 1.5 meters high, was found at the construction site immersed in a brown liquid inside the coffin.
Before the coffin was opened, the roadworkers thought that it was just a concrete block, until they realized that it was more than just a concrete.
