Filipino-American Man Left His Lavish Lifestyle In The U.S. To Live In The Philippines

Let us all face the fact that the life in the Philippines is pretty tough. Due to this, a lot of Filipinos tend to leave the Philippines to work abroad and achieve the lavish lifestyle that they’ve been dreaming to have. However, not everyone ends up having a good life abroad because there are some Pinoys who are becoming an illegal immigrant.

While others are flying abroad to have their dream life, there’s this Filipino-American man named Chase Marcum III who proved that his Pinoy roots are stronger than his foreign blood after he chose to leave the lavish lifestyle in the US to live in the Philippines.

Chase stated that in his life in Sta. Rosa California, he was relatively well-off. He’s a degree holder in Anthropology, an owner of a house and a car, and receives a salary of $2,000-3,000 or an estimated amount of 100,000-150,000 in Philippine Peso.

People must have envied him but then, he chose to give it all up when he went to the Philippines for a vacation.

“Dalawa o tatlong linggo doon ako sa Boracay kasama tatay ko. Sobrang maganda ang lugar dun. White sand, sobrang clear ang tubig. Maraming fresh na seafoods.”

At that point, he realized that a three-week stay will never be enough and so he decided to spend the rest of his life in the Philippines. He chose to turn his back on his life in the States and finally reside in his mother country.

Currently, he’s living in the Philippines with his Pinay girlfriend, Jeremae Silvano whom he met at a disco. Although his life in the Philippines was tough, he never saw it that way for he has his sweetheart who refused to leave him. Now, they already have a son whom they named Charles Marcum IV.

“Yung OIC namin dati tinanong n’ya ako kung gusto ko guwardiya trabaho kasi kulang sila. ‘Talaga?’ Sasabihin ko, ‘Sige’.”

“Maraming tao hindi intindi bakit ako dito kasi may business, may bahay, may magandang kotse. Pero wala akong paki sa pera, wala akong paki sa gamit, sa kotse. Inisip ko mas importante masaya.”
